LEONA CLARKE

Leona began practicing Pilates in 2010 to alleviate chronic hip pain. Throughout a physically demanding career as a camera operator, she had always taken pain-free movement for granted and came to Pilates as a last resort; she was instantly hooked by the efficacy and depth of the method and its remarkable results.

She trained with the Pilates Foundation in both mat work and apparatus under the tutelage of Anne-Marie Zulkahari (a founder member of the Foundation and one of the foremost teachers of and authorities on Pilates in the UK). Leona has been teaching in London and Brighton since 2016.

Leona feels passionately that Pilates is for everyone regardless of age, ability or fitness. Whether her clients seek recovery after illness, gains in sporting efficiency or simply time to enjoy movement, Leona aims to facilitate ease, fluidity and a deeper understanding of their own bodies. She continues to update her professional development with emerging discoveries in movement education.
